They said that the best way to learn something is to just jump into the raging fire, set yourself alight and see what burns; whether it turns into your passion or your ashes. So, why this topic particularly? me, with no academic background in healthcare or medical whatsoever.

As a background, i’ve been working for a healthcare startup for quite awhile, this topic (cohort analytics etc) was introduced by dr kev as a problem one of our clients are facing. I’ve been wanting to have a good distraction from the mundanity of works and to be interested enough in this industry for the next 5 years or decade at least if i wanna stay longer here. I wanted to know more about this industry, sometimes there’re simply too much, and there’s a limit to how much you can learn from what you’re doing on your job, even if they’re domain related.

Everything feels overwhelming; OHDSI, OMOP CDM, ATLAS, Athena vocabulary standards, and whole open source community. i had almost given up in the beginning. To be uncomfortable is the sign of growth, and heads up this is probably just what i needed, the new horizon to look forward to.
